Farida Hozefa Sehorewala
Elementary Homeroom teacher - GEMS Al Khaleej International School
My name is Farida Sehorewala, and I am an Early Years and Primary educator with over 15 years of teaching experience, currently working with Grade 1 students. Having taught across multiple international curricula, I bring a strong and practical understanding of how young learners develop within diverse educational settings.
I am deeply passionate about play-based, purposeful teaching that supports children with different learning needs and styles. My classroom practice is intentionally designed to engage visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners through hands-on experiences, discussion, movement, and meaningful exploration, ensuring every child has multiple ways to access and demonstrate their learning.
I believe strong pedagogy and meaningful relationships are at the heart of effective teaching. I use thoughtful scaffolding and intentional strategies to support EAL learners and those ready to be challenged further, creating inclusive environments where all learners feel confident and capable.
I view technology as one of many tools that can enhance learning when used purposefully alongside play-based approaches. Through sharing real, classroom-tested strategies, I aim to balance engagement, accessibility, and independence for young learners.
