Gareth Davies (MSc, BEd, NPQH) is a nationally recognised literacy leader, author and education consultant with extensive experience in English teaching, curriculum design and school improvement. A former Regional Adviser for England’s National Strategies, Gareth has worked with schools and education leaders to translate research and curriculum thinking into ambitious, effective classroom practice.
As CEO of Literacy Counts, Gareth leads the development of award-winning, evidence-informed literacy programmes used by schools in the UK and internationally. His work explores how foundational knowledge, executive function and carefully sequenced teaching can help children become confident, independent readers and writers.
With education entering a period of significant curriculum and technological change, Gareth is particularly interested in how we retain what matters most about great English teaching while embracing the opportunities of an AI-enabled future.
