Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Foundation for Youth Development on Tuesday held a graduation ceremony in honour of 53 Emirati women, who have completed the theoretical part of the ‘Teacher Assistant programme'.

Managed in collaboration with the British University of Dubai, the programme, considered a major innovative initiative in the UAE’s educational system, aims to train a group of unemployed Emirati women, between the ages of 18-35 and who have not completed their university education, to work as assistant teachers at local public schools.

The ‘Teacher Assistants Programme, one of the leading initiatives launched by ‘Kayani’, an Emirates Foundation programme, was created with the objective of providing opportunities for a targeted group of the UAE society to engage in the community and to construct direct employment opportunities for youth with disability.
