Third GESS Exhibition and Global Education Forum opens with Royal Seal of Approval
GESS 2010 and the Gulf Education Forum were officially inaugurated by His Excellency Hamaid Mohamed Al Qutami, the UAE Minister of Education. The region’s leading education show organised by F&E, has attracted more than 200 exhibitors from 27 countries and has seen an increase in pre registration for this year’s event.
Representatives from Education Ministries within the GCC were also in attendance at the opening day of the show, while more than 4,000 local and regional educational professionals are expected to visit the show.
In his opening address, His Excellency Hamaid Mohamed Al Qutami, the UAE Minister of Education, stated: “The central theme for this year’s GESS is ‘connecting learners to communities’ which demonstrates our belief in the importance of linking communities. This represents a fundamental pillar of access to the concept of long life learning. The Forum’s topics and keynotes show the effective communication between the learning communities and learning sources in order to achieve desired integration."
This year’s GESS features all new attractions such as the 21st Century classroom and provides an insight into the future of learning. With integrated technology forming an integral part of the classroom of the future, GESS is the perfect platform for teachers and education professionals to see firsthand how this can be achieved in the classroom.
Running alongside GESS is the Global Education Forum, the only conference for education professionals in the UAE and GCC. This year’s line up includes some of the most renowned global experts in their fields, currently working to shape the educational landscape both regionally and internationally.
“We are delighted to bring such specialists to the region, in many cases for the first time. GEF has succeeded in establishing itself as a key platform for education debate and development in the region since its inception three years ago. Along with leading international brands taking part in this year’s GESS, the mix of local and international expertise at GESS 2010 is a testament to the UAE’s status as an
educational hub and the role the UAE continues to play in driving educational development in the region,” said Sue Rothwell,
GESS 2010 will run from 23-25 February 2010 in conjunction with GEF at the Airport Expo Centre, Dubai.
