Press Start to Learn: How Riyadh's K-12 Students are Redefining Gamification in the Classroom
Session Summary:
The traditional classroom is being "re-coded." In this session, K-12 students from the heart of Riyadh step out of the digital world and onto the stage to discuss their experiences with gamified learning. Moving beyond the hype of high scores, these young "players" reveal how game mechanics—like quests, XP, and narratives—are transforming them from passive listeners into active explorers. Join this session to:
• Gain direct insights from K-12 students in Riyadh about their authentic experiences with gamification, learning how game mechanics like quests, experience points, and narratives impact their engagement and learning outcomes
• Discover how traditional game elements are being successfully integrated into classroom environments to transform passive learning into active exploration and student-driven educational experiences
• Learn from student voices how gamification moves beyond superficial rewards to create meaningful learning experiences that motivate, engage, and empower learners in modern educational settings
