Outdoor Education Manager - Husaak
Dirk is the Outdoor Education Manager at Husaak, working with schools and universities to develop learning experiences across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman. His career spans outdoor instruction, expedition delivery and programme development, with experience at several organisations in the UK, Europe and the GCC.
His approach centres on a simple belief: young people need opportunities to step beyond familiar environments, take responsibility and discover what they are capable of. Through purposeful challenge, shared experiences and reflection, he helps connect outdoor adventure with educational outcomes, including resilience, confidence, teamwork and independence.
Dirk advocates for meaningful outdoor learning as an integral part of education. He is particularly interested in how educators can balance safety with opportunities for young people to make decisions, manage uncertainty and learn through experience.
At Husaak, he works to bring these principles into programmes that connect classroom learning with the world beyond it.
