Dr. Ihab Shahwish
Assistant Professor - Prince Sultan University
Dr. Ihab Shawish is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Prince Sultan University (PSU). He obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Yarmouk University, Jordan, in 1999, followed by a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan, in 2003. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from King Saud University in 2022.
Dr. Shawish has more than 20 years of university-level teaching experience. He began his academic career at King Khalid University in 2004, where he served for eight years before joining PSU in 2012. He is currently a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Sciences. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he received the PSU College-Level Excellence in Teaching Award in 2017.
Dr. Shawish has authored over 22 peer-reviewed publications in reputable international journals, holds one U.S.-registered patent, and has contributed to one book chapter. His research interests focus on the design and synthesis of novel organic compounds with potential anticancer activity, as well as the development of heterocyclic corrosion inhibitors based on s-triazine, pyrazole, and triazole scaffolds.
