Director of Academic Advising and Student Success - Northwestern University Qatar
Miriam is a dedicated global educator and student affairs professional with a strong record of advancing academic excellence across the GCC region. She brings extensive experience advising diverse student populations in Engineering, Business, International Relations, Journalism, and Media Studies, with a career spanning student retention, recruitment, and quality enhancement initiatives while reporting directly to senior academic leadership.
Her commitment to student success is reflected in mentoring, applied research, and the implementation of best practices that enhance the student lifecycle from enrollment through graduation. Miriam is highly skilled in data analysis and reporting related to retention, first-year experience, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation. She has led training for new hires, developed operational manuals, and collaborated closely with Student Affairs, Registrar, Institutional Effectiveness, Admissions, Recruitment, and senior leadership teams.
An active contributor to curriculum, quality enhancement, and student retention committees, Miriam is also a published author on topics related to education and artificial intelligence. She is a frequent speaker at local and international conferences, sharing insights on student success, innovation, and data-informed decision-making.
Miriam currently serves as the Regional Director of IASAS in the Middle East, is a board member of MENASA NASPA, and sits on the Global Steering Committee of NACADA.
