Description: The Alliance for Sustainable Schools (TASS) is a non-profit network of schools working together to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future. TASS is a vibrant community of practice for sustainability in schools, bringing together sustainability practitioners, students, and school leaders in schools all around the world to share best practise and tackle the most important sustainability challenges all schools face. TASS is also an influential agent of change. By harnessing the collective influence of its members, engaging with their students and partnering with innovate local organisations, it is catalysing systems change in five key areas – school buses, school food, school buildings and school uniforms. Anthony will present TASS’s approach and share case studies that illustrate the impact this approach is having.
In this session, we will explore the powerful intersection of dialogue, global citizenship education, and virtual exchange. Building on the work of Generation Global, this conversation will discuss how digital platforms can connect young people from diverse backgrounds, empowering them to engage in meaningful, open-minded dialogue. We’ll highlight examples of how dialogue can be effectively integrated into diverse curricula, from language learning to social studies and explore how these conversations tackle critical global issues.
Outlining the vision of IQM for schools across MENA with a particular contextual focus on Saudi. To improve the learning experience and outcomes of ALL pupils in Saudi schools. To support and steer school leaders in Saudi schools with a more robust and responsive framework for identification of best national practice and effective inclusive pedagogy. To develop inclusive leadership styles and empower schools to create cultures of belonging for all learners and stakeholders. To elevate standards and the culture of inclusion in Saudi schools, through awareness and distributed leadership, to the same robust standards of safeguarding. It is the responsibility of ALL patrons. To create a legacy of sustainability and future proof Saudi schools so that inclusion becomes the golden thread of school improvement and an integral part of the rigorous self-evaluation process. Good practice and inclusive schools will become accredited as such.

Through collaborative discussions, case studies, and actionable planning, attendees will leave with a clear framework for developing an SEL approach that is both impactful and sustainable. Whether starting from scratch or refining an existing program, this workshop will provide the tools and insights needed to foster a thriving SEL environment.
A “prepared environment” is a space intentionally designed to foster children’s independence, exploration, and self-directed learning, central to Montessori education. It is organized to be accessible, inviting, and orderly, allowing children to engage with activities at their own pace. This setup encourages autonomy, responsibility, and confidence while nurturing each child’s natural curiosity. Materials are a key component of this environment. They are hands-on, self-correcting tools that help children learn through active engagement and discovery. Simple, purposeful items like the Pink Tower, Sandpaper Letters, and Golden Beads promote sensory exploration, cognitive development, and fine motor skills. These materials encourage children to solve problems independently, enhancing concentration and critical thinking. A prepared environment, with its carefully chosen materials, empowers children to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.
